The girls have had a very busy month preparing for Christmas. First, we turned into elves for our school door decorating competition. Next, we went to the school Christmas Bake Sale where we got to buy ourselves a treat! We also had a very cheeky elf visit our class. Before she left we wrote letters to her so she would always remember her time in Room 2. We created beautiful Christmas baubles with Ms. Costello’s Senior Infants to decorate our Christmas trees at home. Furthermore, we had “Polar Express day” where we wore our dressing gowns and boarded the train around the downstairs classrooms before arriving in Room 1 to watch the movie with some treats. We learned some Christmas carols throughout the month also. To finish up the week, we had a visit from Santa and we also got some hot chocolate as a treat for all our hard work so far this year!
The girls have been enjoying learning one of their November nursery rhymes; Two Little Dickie Birds. They really enjoyed making bird puppets to help them recreate the rhyme. Check out the video of the girls performing the rhyme below!

The girls have been busy exploring Winter and the changes it brings to our environment. We have been learning about ways in which we adapt to the cold weather. The girls helped prepare our classroom teddies for Winter, deliberating which clothes are suitable for Winter weather to make sure they survive. Some of the girls even let the teddies borrow their shoes to ensure their feet stayed warm and dry!
