We were very excited that Ms Freeborn’s 4&5th Class video application to Dare To Believe was successful for a Team Ireland Olympic Ambassador visit last term. It can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7J7lka1XSk
On Tuesday 19th November2024 , we welcomed Noel Hendrick, Ireland’s Olympic Canoeist, to Bunscoil Bhride. After showcasing their work on the project, 4th&5th class along with our Active Schools Committee led Noel through a jubilant and colourful guard of honour before proudly singing Amhrán na bhFiann. The girls were enthralled by his inspirational talk about never giving up on finding a sport that you love and his personal story of resilience.
The school presented Noel with hundreds of creative designs for his new Canoe and impressed the Kildare, Paris ‘24 semi-finalist with their fiercely energetic An Haka Gaelach performance.
After the Assembly, Ms Freeborn’s class and the Active School members took part in a visualisation activity with Noel.
This was a really special day in the history of the school, and the photographs below give a glimpse into some of the highlights which will be remembered for years to come.
Our Class have enjoyed learning about the work of Land Artists such as Andy Goldsworthy and made the most of the good weather by creating their own collaborative artworks using found objects in nature while focusing on pattern, form and texture. We would certainly recommend this mindful activity for improving wellbeing.
