Senior infants have had a busy & fun start to the year this September! It has been lovely settling back into school & getting to know our new classmates. We have been very busy revising our phonics sounds & blending words using our sounds. In maths, we have practised our number formation, played counting games & combining numbers to 5 using concrete materials. As Gaeilge, we looked at the themes of ‘mé féin’ & ‘ar scoil’ & we have learned some lovely songs to sing in Irish! We did lots of painting this month – we painted our own paper-plate dragons inspired by our story ‘Zog’ by Julia Donaldson. We looked at mixing primary colours using our fingers! We had lots of discussions on different topics, such as our school, our class & how we can be a good friend at school. It has been wonderful getting to know the girls & we look forward to a busy year ahead!
