A Garden-in-a-jar

The girls of Fifth Class visited Junior Infants at the outdoor classroom. They explained to junior infants that growing a garden-in-a-jar is easy because the garden is self-watering. It works in much the same way as the water cycle- the same water is used over and over again. They created gardens in glass jars. They put pepples, damp compost and small healthy plants into the jars. The jars are airtight and placed in a bright place in the infant classroom. We are looking forward to analysing our gardens over the next two weeks.
