The Big Travel Challenge

Our whole school community took part in ‘The Big Travel Challenge’ in February. We chose to focus on cycling as the sustainable mode of travel for the duration of the challenge. We were so impressed with the number of girls cycling to school everyday, even when the weather wasn’t in their favour. We recorded a big increase at all class levels in the number of children choosing a more sustainable way of travelling to school.

Senior Infants and Second Class took part in cycling workshops with Karen Moore from An Taisce. The workshops focused on bike safety, bike skills and bike maintenance. The girls had lots of fun demonstrating their new skills.
